VSC7460 Jaguar-1 is a Carrier Ethernet (CE) switch that contains 24\\xa010/100/1000\\xa0Mbps Ethernet ports and four 10G XAUI Ethernet ports. Optionally, two XAUI ports can support up to eight 2.5G Ethernet ports. VSC7460 is based on Virtualized Service Aware Architecture (ViSAA\\u2122\u0026amp;gt;), a silicon implementation that offers an unmatched level of Service Edge and CE Networking features. ViSAA achieves wirespeed performance for even the most feature-rich Carrier Ethernet services. VSC7460 uses VeriTime\\u2122\\xa0IEEE 1588, Microsemi\\u2019s patent-pending timing technology that delivers the industry\\u2019s most accurate IEEE 1588 network timing and synchronization implementation. Advanced TCAM-based QoS processing using Versatile Content Aware Processing (VCAP-II) enables the delivery of differentiated services with per-service SLA guarantees. Comprehensive service and transport support are provided for networks based on Provider Bridge, Provider Backbone Bridge (PBB), Provider Backbone Bridge with Traffic Engineering (PBB-TE), and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS-TP) protocols. A powerful embedded MIPS processor, tightly integrated with CE switch functions, enables the implementation of Ethernet OAM, VeriTime IEEE\\xa01588 network timing and synchronization capability, and switch management using a single device, eliminating the need for an external processor in many cases. A comprehensive application programming interface (API) and software package are provided for switch applications. The software package integrates easily with third-party software, preserving existing software investments while adding new, enhanced carrier functionality.
