MC9S12XDT256MAL Description
The 16-Bit MC9S12XDT256MAL MCU Family from Freescale will continue to provide consumers the advantages of low cost, low power consumption, low electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and low code-size efficiency. The MC9S12XDT256MAL family, which is built around an improved S12 core, will give 2 to 5 times the performance of a 25-MHz S12 while maintaining a high level of pin and code compatibility with the S12. The performance-enhancing XGATE module is a new member of the MC9S12XDT256MAL family. This parallel processing module offloads the CPU by utilizing increased DMA functionality to provide high-speed data processing and transfer across peripheral modules, RAM, Flash EEPROM, and I/O ports. The XGATE can access all peripherals, Flash EEPROM, and the RAM block, adding up to an additional 80 MIPS of performance above and beyond that of the CPU.
