2N2222 Description
The 2N2222 is a low-power NPN bipolar junction transistor (BJT) that is commonly used in switching and amplifying applications. It's designed for low-to-medium current, low-to-medium power, medium-to-medium voltage, and quick operation. It was made in the TO-18 metal container depicted in the illustration.
2N2222 Features
When the base is open, the collector to emitter voltage is VCEO = 50V.
When the collector is open, the emitter to base voltage is VEBO= 6V.
When the emitter is open, the collector to base voltage is VCBO= 75.
IC = 800mA is the continuous collector current in DC.
PT = 1W is the total power dissipation of the gadget.
2N2222 Applications
This 2N2222 NPN Transistor can be utilized in loads that require more than 800mA of current.
Variable frequency drives (VFD) and other motor drive circuits
Circuits with dc inverters and rectifier circuits
Darlington pair transistors are used to get a high current from the emitter to the collector by connecting many transistors in parallel.
It can be used as an amplifier to boost current, voltage, or power.
